Tuesday was a really bad day personally, but a fun day event wise. I got to join 14 other high school orchestra directors (turns out most of them were friends of mine :) ) and have a meeting with Robert Spano -- conductor of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. We had a little Q & A then sat in on that afternoon's rehearsal. We got to sit on the stage with the musicians during the rehearsal, which was way cool. That was the highlight of my day. :)
Pain was really bad though. Woke up with three pinched nerves in my neck. Then the area between my shoulder blades started hurting again. Then my shoulders. Then my low back. Damn... Had a great time sitting in on the ASO rehearsal, but I was about in tears from discomfort. Totally worth it though. That foam roller really helped a lot after I got home.
Wednesday was the first day I didn't have that "whiplash" pain. That was good. Area between my shoulder blades got irritated, but I could at least deal with it. I felt back there and found that "knot" that I had last week (before Friday). Not really a knot from what Doc said. I guess the fascia is pushing back through the tear in the muscle. It's not as bad as before, so hopefully I won't have another reaction tomorrow like I did last Friday.
I had to stay at work for Open House last night. It was supposed to start at 6:30, so I grabbed a co-worker and we ran an errand or two beforehand. I found a website that had a few interesting green smoothies and I wrote down stuff I needed to get for them. My boyfriend said he'd be interested in drinking them with me, which makes it easier for me to try them (so I won't have so much extra each time). Doc really quickly mentioned vegetable smoothie-something-or-other. He never got around to giving me specifics like he said, so I figured I'd try and get started on something. I got all the stuff. I was going to try one this evening after I swim. We'll see how it goes.
Needless to say, the Open House kept me from going to the pool or skating. If I went between school and the event, I would have been a sweaty and/or wet mess for the parents. Kind of unprofessional. So I'm itching for some activity.
Today is a good day as far as the pain goes. I've noticed that I can't bend my neck to the left nearly as far as the right. I don't think that was the case before. Always something. Lol. Maybe it's like what my mom tells me, "It's all in my head" and that I need to "stop imagining it." Whatever. I've been putting hot packs on it all day and it hurts a little less. Maybe swimming will loosen it up tonight.
See Doc tomorrow. Besides the "knot" returning, hopefully there will be a good report on progress.
